Save Time Locating the c-tree Plus for .NET Assembly Reference

The Microsoft .NET framework is a managed code programming model for Windows. Offering a rapid development environment integrated tightly with Microsoft’s Visual Studio, the .NET framework provides developers a consistent programming interface leveraging the skills of their language of choice, be that VB.NET, Delphi .NET, C++ .NET, J#, or the powerful C#.

FairCom’s c-tree Plus for .NET assembly has been designed to take advantage of this flexibility. c-tree Plus for .NET integrates directly into your Visual Studio environment. Quickly build c-tree Plus client applications and immediately take advantage of the speed of the c-tree Server!

In Volume 23 of the FairCom eNewsletter, we described how FairCom lets the developer build in the options they need in their c-tree Plus for .NET assembly (see Build your c-tree Plus for .NET Assembly.)

Once the c-tree Plus for .NET assembly has been compiled through the c-tree make utility, mtmake, you can avoid browsing for the assembly .dll every time you start a new project by registering the .dll with Visual Studio .NET.

This requires a simple registry entry. The easiest way to add this entry is to create a small text file containing a line similar to the following:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\.NETFramework
\AssemblyFolders\FairCom] @="C:\Faircom\dotNet"

You may need to edit the C:\Faircom\dotNet directory path to reflect your preferred location.

Be sure to name the file with the .reg extension. Once the path is correct, simply double-click the file, close and reopen Visual Studio .NET, and the .dll will now appear in the .NET pane of the Add Reference dialog. Include c-tree Plus in all of your applications where you need the fastest data handling available.

Note: Don’t forget that the c-tree Plus for .NET assembly is strong signed so you must strong sign your application as well. Not doing so will result in an “.NET Unlicensed dll Errors” covered in the Volume 20 of the FairCom eNewsletter.

In order to meet the needs of small to medium sized Contact Centers (10 – 200 seats), Zeacom developed its flagship product QMaster™. This Windows-based CTI solution utilizes an Intelligent Call Delivery (ICD) matrix to maximize the Contact Centers’ operational performance while enhancing customer service levels.

Corus™, Zeacom’s Enterprise Messaging application, also works extremely well as a complement to the Q-Master system. This application is specifically designed to manage all telephony communications in a single unified messaging environment. With easy to use graphical user interfaces and clever caller recognition devices, Corus modules can work independently or can be integrated to form a complete call management solution.

Zeacom was confident in selecting FairCom as a database partner because of both the technology and the company behind that technology. The technology was a good fit for Zeacom because it matched the direction of their development work. Specifically, the performance of c-tree Plus was reliable and predictable, and it suited the real time nature of the Zeacom application. FairCom’s technology was also very portable, allowing Zeacom to easily support a variety of platforms.
