Columbia, MO — January 5, 2005 — FairCom Corporation, a leading provider of high performance database solutions, today announced the completion of an expanded distribution agreement with ACI Worldwide, an international provider of enterprise e-payment solutions. The agreement provides distribution rights for FairCom’s c-treeSQL Server Technology in addition to FairCom’s c-tree® Server database server technology within ACI Worldwide’s BASE24-es™ enterprise payments software. Pricing terms were not disclosed.

BASE24-es uses an open systems architecture to acquire, authenticate, route, switch, and authorize financial transactions across multiple channels. The software provides a full range of functionality to support payment transactions – both traditional debit and credit card transactions as well as the transactions of the future such as mobile commerce and Internet banking. The product supports all leading payment cards and offers standard interfaces to leading devices, switches and host systems. ACI has created a new paradigm – lower costs per transaction without sacrificing key elements such as linear scalability, 7/24 reliability and the highest levels of manageability.

The c-tree Server is a proven database server tuned for performance-sensitive applications such as BASE24-es. With sophisticated caching techniques and comprehensive transaction processing features, the c-tree Server scales from embedded systems through enterprise systems such as BASE24-es without introducing significant overhead on the underlying system resources. “To complement BASE24-es we were looking for database technology that was reliable and efficient, with the lowest possible latency,” said Charles Linberg, chief technology officer at ACI Worldwide. “FairCom’s c-tree was a clear choice. ”

FairCom worked closely with ACI engineers as well as major hardware, operating system, and storage vendors to ensure BASE24-es meets or exceeds the volume requirements of the largest customers. As part of this, FairCom implemented a number of enhancements at ACI’s request to benefit BASE24-es. “FairCom has been very responsive to our needs,” Linberg notes. “Whether it is technical support or enhancement requests, FairCom has delivered what we need to ensure the success of this project. ”

This partnership allowed a mutual exchange of detailed technical expertise, driving more efficient solutions for both ACI customers and FairCom customers. “ACI’s extensive experience and knowledge in transaction-based payment software coupled with the performance-oriented nature of the c-tree Server result in a powerful solution. This project has resulted in enhancements to our technology that will benefit our entire customer base,” explains Randal Hoff, FairCom ’s Director of Business Development.
