Deployment Options to Put You in Control

As a provider of OEM database technology, FairCom strives to make the process of deploying our technology as easy as possible. Our goal: eliminate the overhead that typically accompanies other database solutions.

We give c-treeACE developers the ability to develop and deploy an application-specific database solution so that the resulting application is delivered to end-users as a single, integrated solution. Contrast this with other models where a developer creates an application and requires the end-user to obtain a separate database component (and accompanying support) from a third party. Because of our approach, the licensing and support for the database component comes from the application developer, and the end-user has no need to contact FairCom to purchase database technology or support.

Easy for Developers

From a development perspective, we try to simplify the deployment process by removing the technical hurdles that often stand in the way. Consider the following:

  • The c-treeACE Server is a single executable with a handful of DLLs
  • There are no registry settings required for c-treeACE Servers
  • The disk and memory requirements are minimal
  • The server can be run as a background Windows service or in the background on Unix systems
  • With the appropriate OEM license, the server can be included as part of your installation without requiring a separate activation mechanism
  • The support and maintenance overhead associated with the servers are minimal
  • The servers are cost effective and custom agreements are available to fit with your business model

    Simple Licensing

The c-treeACE Servers that are part of the c-treeACE Express and Professional packages are licensed for your internal, pre-production development use only. To obtain c-treeACE Servers for use in a production setting (even if "production" means your own personal use or for an internal corporate application), the steps depend on your planned usage.
