Licensing to Put You in Control

FairCom strives to bring you quality technology without burdening you with complicated licensing arrangements. Indeed, we pride ourselves on being practical and straightforward in the way we conduct business. Our licensing options vary based on a number of different factors, including how to use our technology. Start by identifying which of the following categories you best fit into.

Licensing c-treeACE for Commercial Use

If you intend to use the c-treeACE Servers for commercial use, the servers are licensed on a per executable basis. FairCom offers a number of standard deployment models including purchasing individual c-treeACE Servers at retail under the terms of a shrink-wrap license, or purchasing them in volume via an OEM agreement. • Applications that you are developing and plan to distribute to either individuals or other companies outside of your own company
• Applications that you are developing and plan to distribute within your own company

Licensing c-tree ACE for Personal Use

If you intend to use the c-treeACE Servers for personal use, the servers can be obtained for FREE from FairCom. Personal uses would include:

• Your personal Web site
• Applications that you are creating solely for yourself that you are not making available to others

Licensing c-tree ACE for Educational Use

If you intend to use the c-treeACE Servers for educational use, the servers can be obtained for FREE from FairCom. Educational uses would include:

• Students who are working on projects for school
• Teachers, instructors, professors and other educators who would like to use c-tree in a teaching environment.

Special Situations

If you are considering an advanced implementation that falls outside of the bounds of our standard license, or you are concerned that your implementation may violate the terms of our standard license, please contact a member of our business development team. In many cases, we are able to write amended agreements with balanced costs to allow developers to create these types of applications.
